The Montreal Herald which on July 13, 1820 announced the marriage in Montreal (Pte. Clare) of an Ann Amelia Glassford, youngest daughter of James Glassford, to William Whitney also of Pte. Clare.
William Whitney of Montreal, stage keeper and Ann Amelia Glassford of Pointe Claire, spinster, both of the age of majority, were joined in marriage by License from His Excellency George Earl of Dalhousie Governor in
chief at Pointe Claire this 13th July in the presence of these witnesses: James Glassford (father), William Glassford (eldest brother) and William McGeoch. (marriage Certificate)
