Leander's household appears as follows: Leander age 41, occupation, farmer; Mary S. age 36; Ada Alice age 17; Spencer L. age 13; William H. age 11; Harper age 10; Luvena Ann age 8; Corra Ander age 6; Ida E. age 5; Margaret M. age 3; and Jeff Wilson age 1.[3]
Leander's first wife Mary Elizabeth Whiteside died on the 18th of February, 1888, and was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Pontotoc, Pontotoc county, Mississippi.[4]
Leander married his second wife, Susan Ann Fields, on the 19th of September, 1889 in Pontotoc county, Mississippi.[5]
Leander appears in the 1900 Federal census in Pontotoc county, Mississippi. Leander's household appears as follows: Leander's name is listed as: Lee R. age 61, occupation, farmer; Ann age 50, mother of two children with 2 children living; Estelle, son, age 17 occupation, farm laborer; Tim age 8; and Jessie, daughter, age 5.[6]
Leander appears in the 1910 Federal census in Pontotoc county, Mississippi. Leander's household appears as follows: Leander age 71, occupation, farmer; Susan age 39 [Note: this is a discrepancy in her age as Susan's was actually about 60 years old.]; Tim H. age 17, occupation, laborer; Jessie M. age 13; and J.D. Taylor [Black] age 17, hired man.[7]
Leander died on the 21st of July, 1913, in Pontotoc county, Mississippi and was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Pontotoc, Pontotoc county, Mississippi.[8]
