Biography

Barbara Jeannette Wiles claimed to have been married to Lawrence Edgar Ferguson, a serviceman stationed in Tampa, Florida and gave birth to a son, Lawrence Damon Ferguson, b. April 27, 1943. Lawrence Edgar Ferguson was killed in an airplane accident in Hillsborough, Florida on March 9, 1943. He was found to have been married to Robert Lee Stamps on December 1, 1942 and his obituary naming her as his spouse. No marriage record can be found for Barbara Wiles and Lawrence Edgar Ferguson yet a birth announcement was published in the Tampa Tribune, Sunday, May 2, 1943, page 28 noting the parents as Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence E. Ferguson and also noting his death: "Staff Sgt. Lawrence E. Ferguson was killed recently in the crash of a MacDill field medium bomber."

Barbara went on to marry Edwin Henderson Kirby on September 30, 1945 in Lee county per Florida marriage records. They were divorced in 1950 per Florida divorce records. They had one son, Wayne Edwin Kirby, b. January 13, 1949 Tampa, FL, d. December 19, 2016 Tampa, FL.

An article was published by Barbara Wiiles' father Homer in the News-Press in Fort Myers, FL on February 5, 1952 that Barbara had been married to James Haun and had returned from Key West the previous day to make her home in Fort Myers. No marriage record has been found. Barbara and James Haun had a female child born to them on March 9, 1955 and she was given up for adoption to a local family. She and James were not together at this point but no divorce record has been found. Barbara had been very sick and was battling cancer. She died in Fort Myers on April 24, 1957. James moved on to Georgia where he passed in Catoosa county on November 7, 1994.

DNA test taker Anonymous Haun is the daughter of Barbara Wiles, the daughter of Grace Curry, the great granddaughter of the common ancestors Jacob Adams & Wyannie Malone.
