Abner Wilkes was married twice. He married Jerisha Brown on 15 June 1829 in Copiah County.

With Jerisha, Abner had the following children. Elizabeth born 1804, Sarah born 1805, Nancy Eliza born 1813, John B. born 1819, William F. born 1820, and Judith born 1826.

These should not be confused with the children of Martha that had the same name... Elizabeth born 1790, Sarah born 1792, Nancy born 1809
