He died 12 April 1948 in Newton Twnp., Licking Co., Ohio. [11]He is buried in Franklin Township Lutheran Cemetery in Newark, Ohio.[12]

The family reside on a farm four miles west of Newark, and belong to the Evangelical Lutheran Church. They have a beautiful home with all modern conveniences, designed and built by Mr. Wilkin himself who is a skilled carpenter and mechanic, as well as a prosperous farmer. Everything on the place denotes industry and enterprise.
