Biography

Charles Wilkin was born in April 1863 in Newark, Ohio. He is the son of John Wilkin and Permelia Myers.

He died 6 November 1926 in Columbus, Ohio.[7][8]He is buried in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown, Indiana.[9]

1186y-c CHARLEY ALBERT WILKIN6, b. Apr. 4, 1863; d. Nov. 6, 1926 in Columbus, O.; bur. at Knightstown, Ind,; m. Oct. 23, 1895, MARTHA L. BURKE. He was employed as a mechanic at the Columbus Gear and Pump Co., of Columbus, but was formerly Express Messenger. Mrs. Wilkin and three daughters, Dorothy, Maxine, and Donna, were drowned during the 1913 flood at their home at Town St. and Glenwood Ave., Elizabeth was away from home at the time of the flood.

    Charles A Wilkin Dies Suddenly
    Charles A Wilkin, age 63, of Columbus, O., former express messenger on the Pennsylvania railway, and at one time a resident of Knightstown, died suddenly at Columbus last Saturday, of heart trouble.
    Four members of the Wilkin family, the wife and three daughters, were drowned during the flood of 1913 at Columbus, O., and the bodies were brought here for burial. Mrs. Wilkin's maiden name was Mattie Burk, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Henry Burt, and a sister of Frank G Burk, of this city.
    One daughter of the family survives, Miss Elizabeth Wilkin, of Chicago.
    The body of Mr Winkin was brought to Knightstown Monday night and the funeral and burial took place Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from Charles F Baxter's undertaking parlots, Public Square, conducted by Rev Ernest A Addison, pastor of the Christian Church. Burial was at Glencove cemetery.
