Biography

Thomas was born in 1844. He was the son of Thomas Willey and Susannah Barker^[1].

In the obituary of John Spencer who was married to Jane Hannah Willey, Thomas John Willey was identified as his brother in law.

He died age 74 ^[2]and was survived by four sons and three daughters.

Mr. Thomas Willey, a very old resident of the district, died at the Beverley Hospital last Monday. Deceased was born at Pinjarra 74 years ago, and has resided in the Beverley district ever since he was a young man. His wife died in September, 1907 and he leaves a grown up family of four sons and three daughters. He has been in the Beverley Hospital for about six weeks suffering from paralysis. The funeral took place at Gilgering on Thursday afternoon, the remains being followed to the place of interment by a large number, of relatives and friends. The funeral arrangements under the control of Mr. J. W. White, and the burial service was read (in the absence of Canon Groser) by the Rev. H. Lindley. The pall bearers were Messrs. Aubrey Hancock, H. W. Whittington, E. Langsford and W. Potts.-Beverley "Times."^[3]

He was buried in Gilgering^[4].
