Biography

Gertrude Catharina Williams was born August 26, 1867 in Victoria (Carver), MN. She was the fourth of 4 children born to Pieter Williams and Margaretha Donders.

Gertrude married Michael Buesgens on September 4, 1889. They had 11 children: Peter J, Marie Ida, William, Mary C, Anna G, George P, Rose Mary, Catherine, Bernard J, Thresa, and Michael Jr.

Gertrude passed away September 7, 1942 and is buried at Sts Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine (Scott), MN. ^[1]

The funeral of Mrs Gertrude Buesgens was held last Thursday, September 10, with requiem mass at Sts Peter and Paul's church, Father Mueller officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery with six of her grandsons carrying her to her last resting place, namely, Elroy, Gerald, Francis and Harold Buesgens, Joe Leuwer and Bert Soller.

Mrs Gertrude Buesgens, nee Gertrude Williams, was born at Victoria, Minn, in 1867, and therefore attained the age of 75 years and 12 days. When she grew to womanhood she married Michael Buesgens, who preceded her in death five years ago.

To this union eleven children were born, of whom nine are living, namely, Peter, George and William Buesgens, Mrs John Leuwer and Mrs Tony Soller of Belle Plaine, Mrs Matt Neisen and Mrs Harold Pangburn of Marshall, Mrs Geo Keller and Ben Buesgens of St Paul. There are 46 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Deceased died on September 7 at the home of her son Peter.
