John was born in 1818. He was the son of Joseph J Williams and Jane James. He married Mary Ann Oliver and they had children: John Henry, Joseph H., Thomas H., William Henry, Elizabeth Ellen (Lloyd), Mary Ann (Reese), David H., Samuel, Sarah and Jane. John passed away in 1893 and was buried in the Garrison Grove Cemetery, Dodgeville, Wisconsin.
