Biography

Asa was a Friend (Quaker)

Asa Willson Sr. (1786-1859) was the son of Gabriel Willson and Keziah Decker. He married Amy Shotwell in 1808 at Hardwick Society of Friends, New Jersey. Amy was the daughter of Benjamin Shotwell Jr. and Bathsheba Pound and a descendent of John Bowne's 1st and 3rd marriage. Amy was also a first cousin of Elizabeth Lundy who married Asa's brother Abner. According to M. C. (Willson) Vail, Asa eventually settled in Leslie Township, Ingham Co., Michigan and the father of nine children. (Willson 39)

His death date is found in the Quaker cemetery.^[1]
