Biography

Maud was the daughter of John Win and Catherine Humphreys of Nelson and 1 of 14 children.

She married Albert Vaughan in 1892 at the age of 19 and had 6 children during her marriage.

Five years after Albert's death Maud remarried to John Horace Griffith, Farmer of Nelson. John had previously been married to her elder sister Catherine Emily who passed away in 1935. Maud and John settled in Auckland where they remained for some years.

She returned to Nelson in the 1950's after John's death. Maud nee Win Vaughan Griffith died age 96 in 1968 and was buried on October 21 at Marsden Valley cemetery, Nelson. BLK 13 A PLOT 048.
