Biography

Margaret Winslow was born on 15 (or 16) July 1640 in Marshfield, Plymouth Colony, the daughter of Josiah and Margaret (Bourne) Winslow.[1] [2]

She married John Miller of Yarmouth, son of Rev. John and Lydia Miller, on 24 December 1659 in Marshfield.[2] Her father, Major Josiah Winslow, performed the ceremony.[2]

Margaret, wife of John Miller, died 26 October, 1698, in her 61st year and was buried in the Ancient Cemetery at Yarmouth.[3][4]

Her husband married, secondly, Sarah Crosby of Harwich, the widow of Thomas Crosby, on 28 April 1703 in Yarmouth.[5][6]

Her husband died on 9 June 1711 in Yarmouth.[7]

    Miller, Margaret, wife of John, died 26 October, 1698, in her 61st year. This is the oldest stone in Yarmouth Ancient Cemetery and one of the oldest on Cape Cod. The wide border around the inscription area is visible below the skull. This stone most likely was carved by Joseph Lamson (1658 - 1722) of Boston.
