John immigrated from England in 1834 aboard the "Caledonia"^[1]. He married Hannah Pitt, probably in Delaware, where their daughter Sarah Emma was born 1837. John became a US citizen in 1843.^[2]They moved to Orangetown, Rockland, New York before 1850.^[3]The family moved to Pittsburg, PA before 1860.^[4]He relocated to Susquehanna Depot, Pennsylvania by 1880, the place of his death in 1884.
