Biography

Edward (Ted) Charles Wood Jnr When Edward (Ted) Charles Wood Jnr was born on October 21, 1881, in New Zealand, his father, Edward, was 45 and his mother, Sarah, was 30. He was just 6 years old when the family moved from st Bathans to Naseby. He was enrolled at Naseby school by his father on 5 Sept 1987 and on leaving his destination was "work" Ted was apprenticed to the building trade, working initially with James Mitchell. In 1905 he appears in the Mt Ida electoral roll as living in St Bathans and occupation as carpenter. A few years later he married Louisa Emma Lobb on September 1, 1909, at St George’s church Naseby.^[1] They lived in a stone cottage in Clyde, where many descendants recall visiting in later years. This cottage is still standing. Ted and Lou had three children during their marriage and 8 grandchildren. He died in 1965 at the age of 83. Both Edward and Louise are buried in the Clyde cemetery.

He died about 1965 aged 84 years old. ^[2]
