Thomas Davenport Wood was born on 26 June 1854 in Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia, son of Anne (Davenport) Wood and John Wood.^{[citation needed]}

He married Ellen Harvey Cundy on 23 January 1878 in Myrtleford, Victoria.^[1] Their children were:^{[citation needed]}
