Biography

Eliza Woodard was born in 1819 in Tennessee. She married John W Fox on May 11, 1836 in Maury County Tennessee. ^[1]

She had five children with John. They were Mary Elizabeth Fox, Sarah Fox, Martha P. Fox, Amanda Fox, and Joseph Washington Fox. Around 1858 John Fox was allegedly killed by bushwhackers just prior to the outbreak of the civil war.

On February 7, 1859, Eliza married Isaac Hendricks in Polk County, Missouri. ^[2] To that union were born two children: Cordelia and Isaac "Curtis" Hendricks.

In 1865 she married James Potts in Polk County, Missouri. ^[3]

According to the 1870 census, she was using the last name of Potts, and is listed as a widow. She and James Potts had no children.

In wc.rootsweb.com it shows that death year unknown, but place where she died was Dunnegan, Polk County, MissourI.

In found in MyHeritage.com in the family tree of Byron Mathena, he lists Eliza as being born in 1816 and died on November 25, 1902 in Missouri.

Names

The last name is also spelled “Wollard”.

In the will of her second husband, Isaac Hendricks, she is referred to as a Elizabeth Jane Hendricks. This is the only reference I have found that her first name may actually be Elizabeth.
