William and Ann Keagy Wright were members of the Society of Friends. During the War of 1812, they left their old home in Delaware County, coming to Clearfield County, where they would not witness the turmoil and strife, so opposed to their religious belief. Here Willaim purchased a large tract of land on which the present town of Glen Hope is located.
