Biography

Thomas was born about 1810. He is thought to be the son of Edmund Wyatt and Mary Collett.

He married Sarah Phillips in 1828 in Randolph County [1][2] and they divorced on September 24, 1833 in Randolph County. [3] Before their divorce they lived in Randolph County [4] and had 2 sons:

  1. John W
  2. Edmund S

After their divorce, Sarah married John Rosencrance and they settled in Randolph County. She appears in the 1850 Census with her husband, their children, and her son Edmund from her previous marriage. [5]

Thomas moved from Virginia to Indiana, perhaps with, or to join, his brothers Aaron and Jacob L,, and married Rebecca Snodgrass on December 5, 1834 in Hamilton. [6] They had two children before his death in 1839.

  1. Phoebe b, 1837
  2. Solomon b. 1838

Thomas died of an accidental gunshot towards the end of September 1839. A small newspaper article published in Goshen, Indiana, dated September 26, states that "Thomas Wyatt was accidentally shot at Mexico, Miami Co, Ia., a few days since. Several persons were collected, amusing themselves with their guns." [7]
