Biography
Robert was born about 1400. He was the son of Maredudd ap Ieuan. He passed away about 1490. [1] Robert ap Maredudd is the presumed Head of the House of Aberffraw following the death of Owain Lawgoch the last and only known surviving great-nephew of Llywelyn ap Gruffudd in 1400. He is cited by Sir John Wynn, 1st Baronet as his ancestor and head of the family at that time. He is known to have married a Welsh noble woman called Angharad ferch Dafydd ap Llywelyn. He had a brother, Ieuan ap Maredudd, from whom the Anwyl of Tywyn family claim descent. A rival claim for the headship of the Aberffraw royal house would come at this time from the Price of Esgairweddan family descended illegitimately from Dafydd II.

Research Notes
Owain Lawgoch left no sons. Robert was his successor but not a descendant or close relative. Possibly born in 1405.
Also known as Robert Wynne. Removed Ieuan ap Adda Howell (b. 1437) as son of Robert Meredydd and Angharad verch Dafydd - naming didn't match. Also removed Ieuan ap Adda Howell as father of Ieuan ap Adda (b. 1344) amb 09:26, 5 June 2014 (EDT)
