Thanks for adding your ancestors on WikiTree! Just a reminder about sourcing.

I notice that you are using "Familienbuch..." as your source on these profiles. As we are a collaborative tree, it would be a great help if you could be a bit more explicit about your sources. For instance: If these are from a family bible or work done by another family member that you inherited or a birth or death certificate, giving specifics will help others know where the information comes from. Anything would be helpful.

Here is what our Sources help page says. It has lots of ideas: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sources

Thanks for your contributions!

Thanks Rupert for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz

Because Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects coordinating them is essential. Please ensure location data matches date of profile and avoid abbreviations. Citations & links for sources enable verification of data please add from wiki ID go to Research to find sources

The German Roots Project would be of interest. Adding the tag German_Roots will connect you

Explore Pre-1700 Projects list to find one that fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Read the goals & tasks of the project join if it fits

Questions please ask

Hello

We've made a change in how the tutorials are sent to new members. Instead of weekly messages you can now work at your own pace.

This is the first page of the Tutorials:How-Tos.

We want to help! For questions, just ask on my page!

Mary ~ WikiMessenger

PS Sometimes links don't work in emails. You can always find a link that works in the public comments on your profile.

Hi Thanks for joining us!

Welcome to this wonderful site ! I'm a member of the Mentor project, and I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Hope you had lots of fun reading "How to Start Climbing Our Tree". I would be happy to answer any relevant questions you have, please feel free to ask!

Regards Ronel

Welcome Rupert!

You are now a confirmed member, and you can get started adding your family members. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.

Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.

Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.

You can also meet some of our members by joining in the fun with our Question of the Week in the G2G forum: Have you attended a family reunion this summer?

See you in the branches, Cindy

Hi Rupert!

Welcome to WikiTree! Be sure to take a look at the link in the email you just got. It has important information to help you get started.  :-)

WikiTree is different than other genealogy websites because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team! And it is completely FREE!

I see you’ve already volunteered. Thank you! I’ll be right back to confirm your membership.

Happy Hunting, Cindy
