Biography

Charles Kelly was born in 1955 at 30 Hayhill, Ayr, Scotland^[1]

His parents were Charles Kelly and Margaret Brady.

Charles attended St Catherine's Primary School in Ayr between 1960 and 1967 and Queen Margaret Academy in Ayr between 1967 and 1971.

In July 1971, Charles started work with C. J. Pell Frischman and Partners in Manchester Square, London. In January 1972, Charles began working for the Department of Trade and Industry at Export House, Ludgate Hill, London where he remained until December 1974.

In December 1974, Charles returned to Scotland to work for the Civil Aviation Authority at Atlantic House, Prestwick. In December 1978, he was successful in gaining a post as an Air Traffic Control Assistant also in Atlantic House in the Scottish Air Traffic Control Centre. In November 1978 following promotion, Charles began training as a Flight Information Service Officer, now with the National Air Traffic Service. He held this post until his retirement in December 2014.

In December 1982, Charlie married Evelyn McLarty in Patna Parish Church. ^[2]

Charles and Evelyn initially lived at 37A New Road, Ayr, before moving to their home of 24 years, i.e., Westbrae, 26 Craigie Avenue, Ayr where they lived until October 2007.

Evelyn worked as a lecturer in Law at Ayr College from 1982 till she retired in 2014.

While living at Westbrae, their daughter, Mhairi was born in 1983, two years later, their son, Ewan was born in 1985. Charles (Charlie) retired in December 2014.

Predicted relationship from MyHeritageDNA: Sister, based on sharing 2702.7 cM across 31 segments.

• Paternal relationship is confirmed by a triangulated group on MyHeritage consisting of AL, MN, and Charles Kelly, who share an 8.5 cM segment on chromosome 13 between the Genomic positions, 110365525 and 113536627. The most-recent common ancestors shared by all three are Richard Kelly and Elizabeth Brannigan.

Nelson-31082 shares 48.7 cM over 3 segments with Leathem-186.

It should also be noted that two other cousins on Wikitree, i.e., RK and KC are DNA matches in common with AL.
