I am looking for help with finding the original source that links Silas Montgomery with his father John Montgomery Jr. I was hoping the Montgomery bible that is cited at the bottom of Silas's page might help, and I was hoping you had access to it.

Lynn, I am a descendant of Jane Livingston who was born in Antrim Northern Ireland, and her husband William Carson, also born in Antrim (Tullaghgarley, Craig's Parish, Antrim, NI). Where in the world did you obtain a middle or married name of Smith for Jane Livingston Carson? I have a Livingston genealogy published by Elizabeth Livingston Leah in 1954, a direct descendant of Jane, and nowhere in that genealogy does that name appear. Jane Livingston Carson died in the house in Springville NY in which I was born in 1934. My middle name is Livingston, also. Let's get your records straightened up. I've been at this genealogy game since 1975 and many times family historians take great liberties with data that is not true.

Hi Lynn, I was cleaning up suggestions as part of the Data Doctors project. I worked on a few profiles you manage, with the same issue. The syntax for the ref tag is:

<ref>Source</ref>

Most HTML-like tags have that syntax, where the closing tag is the same as the opening tag except it starts with the backslash character. You should be able to see all of the information you entered now that those <ref> tags have been closed with </ref>. I hope this helps going forward, you've got good information in those profiles!

Julie

HI, I see you are working on merges, you may want to review Merging FAQs to understand your responsibilities in doing merges. Choosing the correct data between the two profiles is part of the responsibilities. Remember, after the merge you will want to clean up the text. During a merge, the text from the merged-away profile is simply appended onto the end of the text of the merged-into profile. You will want to integrate it into a single biography and a single sources section. Thanks so much for helping improve Wikitree! If you have any questions, just let me know.
