I am a software developer by profession, a wife, the mother of three children born in the 2000s[1]. I am trying to fix the mess of some parts of my family tree by adding sources and questioning my links that don't have any. I was born in Ohio in the 1970's.
I came to WikiTree to work on ferreting out the mythology in my family tree. The initial profiles I have created here have been by hand with sources checked, no GEDCOM importation. I am in the process of moving over a large number of profiles via GEDCOM that I will then clean up. I have just a small (but growing) portion of my ancestors here. I have a very large tree (with some amount of inadvertent mythology) at FamilySource. Excuse me if I cite my FamilySource tree too often, but realize that I do consider much of it as an unproven hint rather than gospel. I can't easily share the root of my tree (because I'm still living, the last I checked), but here are links to all four of my grandparents. You can look at pretty, completely filled fan charts quite a ways back, but remember, mythology is quite possible:
I am sourcing and verifying little by little, if you see an error, please share your sources, I am looking for them!
The question came up on President's Day 2018, so I ran them all. This was my post for future reference ... it may be worth visiting the discrepencies.
Many of them, all through my father's side. All four of my mother's grandparents were born in what is now Poland. That is through WikiTree's Relationship Finder. Through RelativeFinder, which uses the chock-full-of-fiction Family Search tree, I have:
- John Quincy Adams #6: 6C7R thru his mother, so not John Adams #2
- Calvin Coolidge #30: 10C2R
- Theodore Roosevelt #26: 9C5R
- Richard Nixon #37: 9C2R
- Gerald Ford #38: 10C1R
- Ronald Reagan #40: 13C1R
- Bill Clinton #42: 5C3R
- George W. Bush #43: 13C thru his mother, so not George Bush #41
- Barack Obama #44: 10C1R
The truth likely exists somewhere in between. Likely, some of my farther out lines need to be expanded on WikiTree, I know fiction exists on Family Search (though I love their digital sources, worth getting to know that site even if the tree itself needs a giant block of salt), but probably something real there I don't have on WikiTree.
- John Adams 4C7R
- John Quincy Adams 5C6R
- Gerald Ford: 8C1R
- James Garfield: 7C4R
- William Howard Taft: 7C4R
- Thomas Woodrow Wilson: 8C3R
- Millard Fillmore: 7C6R
- Calvin Coolidge: 9C2R
- Dwight Eisenhower: 8C5R
- George H.W. Bush: 10C1R
- Rutherford B. Hayes: 9C5R
- George W. Bush: 11C1R
- Lyndon Baines Johnson: 11C2R
- Hiram Ulysses Grant: 10C5R
- Warren Gamaliel Harding: 10C5R
- Harry S. Truman: 11C3R
- Stephen Grover Cleveland: 11C4R
- Barack Obama: 14C

For the last several months, the Poland Project has been undergoing new organization with new volunteers. We are excited about how the project can enhance Wikitree!
We have several different task teams that need volunteers. Please take a look at this page to see which one interests you: Volunteer Tasks. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Poland_Project_Toolbox Once you have decided which task team you would like to work on, please reply to this comment.
The only requirements for ongoing membership in the Poland Project are that you join a team and respond to the periodic check-ins from the Project Leaders/Coordinators. We recognize that people lead busy lives and are grateful for any and all contributions you can make.
Once you have joined a team, please join the Poland Project Google Group to receive project updates and participate in project and team discussions. You can also follow Project news via the tags 'Poland_Europe' or 'Polish_Roots' or 'Polska' on G2G.
If we don’t hear from you in the next 45 days, your membership badge will be removed. In this case please don't be offended as you're welcome to rejoin at any time. Please also note, that in order to receive help researching your Polish ancestors, membership is not mandatory. Just ask your questions in the G2G forum and tag them with 'Poland_Europe' or 'Polska' in order for our knowledgeable researchers to see them.

We are 7th cousins 1x removed thru Joseph Julien your 6th Great Grandfather and my 7th GGF! Amazingly we have 44 ancestors in 15 generations and 208 total in 30 generations which should be very helpful in our family tree research! Happy Wikitreeing! Angela (Boyer) Cortner Boyer-3525

Your work is appreciated.

I noticed that you are using the Challenge Tracker for unsourced corrections in this weekend's Saturday Sourcing Sprint. If you would like to have your totals kept individually on the Sprint Tracking Sheet (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Saturday_Sourcing_Sprints#Tracking), be sure to add an answer (not a comment) to the current Saturday Sourcing Sprint G2G thread (https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/tag/sourcing_sprints). Team membership is not required.
No pressure, every profile with a source makes our WikiTree better. Your work will be included in the Unregistered total at the bottom if you do not register.
Your work is appreciated. Thanks for sourcing!
Debi - Sprint Facilitator
PS If the links don't work, you can find them in the public comment I left on your profile
