Karen is off duty right now, so I thought I would respond.
Yes, you can upload photos if you took them, or you have permission to share them. At WikiTree, we are very careful about copyright and trademark, both written work and photos. Please see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Photos_FAQ#How_do_you_know_if_you_have_permission_to_upload_a_photo.3F
With newspapers.com, there is an easy technique to cut the article which creates a URL link which you can copy and paste to the profile you are working on. Be sure to attribute where you accessed it.
Re your Ancestry tree, how huge is huge? You can generate GEDCOM files from Ancestry, but the maximum size of GEDCOM you can upload is 5000 people. if your tree on Ancestry is larger than that you will need to split it. However, I would advise you to start much smaller. The GEDCOM does not automatically populate your tree. It generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through, either accepting or rejecting all suggested matches. Once that has been done, you should see [add] buttons for each of the remaining names. The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.
Let Karen, or I, know if you have any further questions.

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
I hope this helps! If you have any questions or problems, let me know.
Take care
