I was born in Ballarat Victoria Australia on 2nd August 1950 to Wilma May Whatmore. My registered father is Vincent Francis Charles Romeo but he is not my biological father. I now have 14 half siblings instead of 5 full siblings but that is okay . Vincent brought me up as his son and I will never know if he in fact knew that I was not his biological son. He always treated me well and I know things were tough just after the war for most people . We moved to Donald Victoria Australia when I was four and I had a good education at Donald Primary and High Schools Joined the NAB in jan 1967 and spent 15 years with that bank travelling all over Victoria. Served in many branches including Donald,Boort,Bendigo,Euroa,Timboon,Myrtleford,Wonthaggi,Traralgon,Somerville and Horsham. Resigned in Horsham and went to Western Australia on a working holiday for 12 months. Searched for gold up at Mount Magnet and Cue and managed to find enough for my mate and I to survive.

Hi Ron,

I see that we are fourth cousins twice removed and are both descendants of Thomas Hill (1804-1878).

Nice to "meet' you. I hope that you're having a great Christmas.

Kindest regards, Pam 🎄

Hello Pam thank you for contacting me very much appreciated.

Are you in South Africa? I am 70yrs of age so you are a generation below me. I am in Australia retired with my wife Pam living on 40 acres just out of Stawell Victoria. My connection to Thomas Hill is through my maternal side .The Hill family came out to Australia in December 1848 and landed and resided in Geelong Victoria. They had a large family and I have a more detailed family tree on ancestry.com My descendant Ann Ellen Hill eldest daughter of Thomas and Mary Jane Hill married in Cornwall to Charles Yelland and came out at a different time . I am sure Thomas and Mary Jane are buried in Geelong Greater Cemetery but have not been to that cemetery as yet. I have DNA matches to Hill and Tippett so I am fairly sure of a lot of my family tree on my Mums side is fairly accurate. Being rather lazy my input on Wikitree is not up to scratch . My DNA test did show up a curve ball as I now know my registered father is not my biological father. With a lot a luck and after downloading my raw DNA data and uploading to My Heritage and Gedmatch I was able to come up with the names of my new paternal grandparents. They had three boys and one girl and I knew the last name was Reid so I knew one of the boys was my father. I had the final breakthrough when the eldest daughter of one of the sons did her DNA and it suddenly appeared at the top of my DNA matches as a half sibling. So I knew her father was my father. After a lot of denials she talked another sister and brother into doing their DNA and they came up as half siblings too. So I have 8 new half siblings 4 m 4f . Have met 6 of them and all accept me as a half brother. Would love to communicate Pam if you feel inclined Ron Romeo
