The title of this suggestion is confusing and contradictory because, by definition, parents who aren't married don't have a marriage record. Suggest changing to something clearer like "Missing marriage record" or "Married parents with no marriage record." Then the suggestion could be marked false if the parents were not married. If you want the suggestion title to account for the possibility that the parents were not in fact married, you could go with "Missing marriage record?" or "Check for possible marriage record."

Hi, Lou

Sometimes the suggestions aren't easily understood, and it helps to have context. You might look at the suggestion group page to which this suggestion belongs for more information: Relationship Suggestions along with the linked help pages for more explanation.

The parents have a common child, but there is no marriage record. The cause may be that the gedcom by which the profile was created didn't have the record in the correct format that WikiTree recognizes, so searching for a marriage record is the action to take. The timeframe is another variable - today, many parents may be unmarried, which was less common 100 years ago. This suggestion's parameters are finding the opposite of what you indicate would be more precise.

No marriage tells us that there are no other marriages for this person. This suggestions is similat to 420 Unmarried parents with other marriages that lists unmarries parents with marriages to other persons. I guess I should use plural for marriage.

There are many ways to be clearer and more precise. Given the possible reasons for the lack of a marriage that you want to cover in this suggestion (1) the parents were not in fact married to each other, or 2) they were married to each other but the marriage record is missing), "Check for possible marriage between parents" seems to cover both. If you don't care for that wording or it doesn't convey your intended meaning, I'm sure there are other ways to clarify the suggestion.

Hi, Lou

It seems you are reading the title only. The title has a character limit, and the page describes what it is and what to do. Where the suggestion title appears on profiles with this suggestion, there is a question mark link to this page to read more about it.
