Can anyone change the "Dutch Portal" sticker/template. [closed]

Question

I am project coordinator of the "Nederlands Portaal" We have a sticker or template that leads users to the main page of the Nederlands Portaal. The image on the sticker is a WikiTree symbol flanked by two Dutch flags. Since Belgian Flanders also belongs to our target group, I want to replace one of the Dutch flags with a Belgian flag.

Can someone who is authorized to do that for us? We will be eternally grateful ...

A small tip: save the image as PNG instead of JPG. JPG is uses a compression method that is better suited for photos, while the compression method for PNG is better from drawings and logos.

Using JPG for a drawing, like here, causes blurry edges. This makes the drawing look unsharp.

The template uses a single image, so you would need to create a new image and provide that file name to us to update the template.

It can be in any image format that WikiTree accepts, so PNG is fine.

Ok, I asked Bea, the designer of the image, to change it. When it's done, should I post that here on g2g or is there a more direct way?

Hi Steve, I designed two logo's, I don't know which one fits best in a sticker. I prefer logo 1 but logo 2 is also good.

I used Logo 2 since it is closer to square than Logo 1. It is still compressed, but I think it will work.

Since the image is stretched to 50x50 pixels, it would be wise to make a square image. It will be much more visible.

Nederlands Portaal is a member template. Our goal is for all projects to use Member template https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:Member to show they are a  member of certain project.

Usage would be {{Member|Nederlands Portaal}} and it would look the same as it does now. I would tell EditBOT to correct existing 38 profiles and you just need to change the documentation. If that is OK by the project, just let us know.

Ok, I'm trying to make a square picture. Flags up and under the WikiTree logo...

It's fine by me if EditRobot change the template in  {{Member|Nederlands Portaal}}.

As Aleš mentioned, the image is compressed to 50x50, so even the new square image is unreadable.

I was not happy with the last image. This weekend I made another image that better symbolizes the Nederlands Potaal.  Four flags that indicate the countries where Dutch is spoken, namely the Netherlands, Belgium, Surinam and the Netherlands Antilles. The title in an arc (the portal) and the WikiTree globe in the center.  I discussed this logo with the other Dutch Roots team members (project Netherlands) where the Nederlands Portaal is part.

Would one of you, Steve or Aleš, be so kind to put this image in the {{Nederlands Portaal sticker}}.  This is the final logo.  Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you want that on the Dutch Roots sticker? That would mean the image is shown on all profiles having {{Dutch Roots Sticker}}, but not having any relation to the "Nederlands Portaal" or Belgium!

Het Nederlands Portaal heeft als hoofddoelgroep Nederlandstalige gebieden in Europa. In Luxemburg wordt geen Nederlands gesproken. We hebben ook het Dutch Portal dat Engels sprekende WikiTreers helpt met Nederlandse genealogische begrippen, het vinden van online bronnen en de vertaling/transcriptie ervan. Wij zijn een onderdeel van het Project Netherlands c.q. Dutch Roots Project en werken samen met het project België. Vandaar die twee vlaggetjes.

Het  Nederlands Portaal has as main target group Dutch-speaking areas in Europe. No Dutch is spoken in Luxembourg. We also have the Dutch Portal that helps English-speaking WikiTreers with Dutch genealogy concepts, finding online sources and translating/transcript them. We are part of the Project Netherlands or Dutch Roots Project and we work together with the project Belgium.  Hence those two flags.
