Go directly to the profile compare page when I have both profile #'s
in Genealogy Help by David Winslow G2G1 (1.1k points)
David, can you explain more what you mean here?
There are times when I have the ID's of two people and want to compare them. So, I would like to go directly to the profile compare page. But, the only way I know to get to that page is to do a "search for matches" first, then click to the right of the name I think might match. If I have a match that does not show up this way, I can go to search a surname, then click "Show merging and matching options".  This takes a very long time. Then I must check the boxes of the one's I think match, scroll way up to the top, and click merge or match etc. This becomes very tedious. I'd like to simply write down the ID's of what look like matches, then use the compare page and request merges for all the matches I found.

Hi David,

You can always go to http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:MergePerson and enter the two IDs, then click the compare button.

Thank you. I was looking for a menu item or something, but the URl will get it done.   Dave
You can also go to the foot of the page you are on, provided it is a profile page and wipe the smith-999 On initiate merge and write jones-4671 and white--237 and then click on compare?
