Trying to sort out the linage of Hugh Cholmondeley (abt. 1513 - 1596) he needs attchaing please to his father Richard Cholmondeley (abt. 1439 - 1518)

HOP and 'History of Chester' give a different mother.

HOP is based on Vis. Cheshire which has him as son of Richard and Elizabeth Brereton and grandson of Richard and Elizabeth Dutton.

Main problem with Elizabeth Bereton as his mother was she was only 8 years old when this Hugh was born. Also the Richard married to Elizabeth was only 11 years old.

Randle Mainwaring married Elizabeth Brererton the widow of Richad Cholmondeley who died 1518.

We know that a Richard Cholmondeley was born around 1511, son of Richard who died in 1518.

We don't have a source (at the moment) for an approximate year of birth for Elizabeth Brereton, daughter of Randell Brereton.
