I uploaded my gedcom but now have to add my whole family anyway.  Why is that?  What was the point of uploading it and spending 4 days matching my gedcom to the tree if I now have to go renter all my information.  I already want to quit

Hey Patricia,

Welcome to G2G.

I have posted a message on the GedCom process here on WikiTree. In short: WikiTree uses unique profiles per person and importing complete GedComs will create many many duplicates. There for it involves a step to check every single person and only add new ones.

Please make sure the Gedcom only contains persons that are well sourced and search this forum and the help on GedComs.

Wikitree does not "autopopulate"  family trees, like Ancestry and my heritage do. The task of autopopulation usually leads to duplicate profiles for people.

Wikitree is trying to build one global family tree where every person gets one profile only, which is accurately sourced.

So when you upload a Gedcom, you must compare every name on your Gedcom with every name shown as a possible duplicate, in order to not create a new duplicate.

This does take time to do but it is a necessary step.
