How do I link my DNA to a profile?

In order to have your test appear on profiles of blood relations it is necessary to check the privacy setting for your own profile.  

Make sure you are set as Private with a Public Family Tree in order for your test results to show on your relatives.

Thank you for your response. I will follow the instructions to get my DNA linked to my 4th great grandmother, Elizabeth Pincer.

It will require that you set your privacy level to at least "Private with Public Family Tree". But that is a good thing because it allows others to see your ancestors, who could be their ancestors too, and recognize you as a relative.

Currently, the connection finder does not allow a connection to be established to you based on your current Privacy setting unless you add that person to your Trusted List.

So, by changing your Privacy setting as stated above, you are allowing better collaboration with you which is what WikiTree is all about.

Apparently I now have to wait for 24 hours for it to appear as a match to my ancestor. Is that correct?

Yes. You have to wait anywhere from 24 to 48 hours (1 to 2 days).

Hi Helene!  Thank you for joining our one world WikiTree!

This is a list of the surnames attached to your family tree twig on the WikiTree:  https://www.wikitree.com/treewidget/Blow-253/10  As you add more ancestors to your twig, they will appear on this surname chart and your DNA information will appear on each ancestor profile after the evening database indexing.  Just add new ancestor profiles and the rest will occur automatically.
