New member introducing myself

Oh my goodness I almost don't know what to do. I will be 91 years old in August and the only one left in my family and I am not all that computer savvy. I have done ancestry.com and probably gotten all the information I can from them but not enough on the Watt family. I don't know if what I have got is accurate. I have had my DNA done. My information goes back to 1592 with a Rickert Watt but I don't know if that's correct. I am also interested in finding out about a William Watt who might have died from exposure in Antarctica on a whaling ship around 1836. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome Jacqueline. It's a steep learning curve for those of us who are tecnologically challenged to be sure! Have you had a look to see if there are any Watts who may your family members here already?

I'm also the last of my line, but I feel it's important to do as much as I can for cousins and for general accuracy etc.

The first thing you might want to do, Jacqueline, is record information you already know -- since you may in fact be one of the few people left alive who does know. Things like your parents' and siblings' names and birthdates, and where you all lived when.

WikiTree is a great place to record that information, since it is open to the public and free to use for all time.

Once you get your immediate family members recorded, then you can start looking for connections to our main tree, being careful to make sure that any connections you make are supported by source documents.
