My fathers original name was Eric Halkyard. I have been searching g for our tree and have come up with who I believe were his parents (Harry and Audrey Halkyard) both who died in the 1960s.

Any help would be fantastic. Trying to find anyone who knew or knows him.

Thanks.

You did not say what country, county and  or city the lived in. I found three Harry Halkyards who died in the 1960's. Here they are:    https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QVCJ-93PB        https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QVC2-3P9L  https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QVC2-V8YC

Would you happen to know the Audrey's maiden name?  Do you know the year that her son, Eric, was born? Was he born in England?

Thank you for your reply. Just noticed some typos as well.

His family seems to have been from the Oldham area. Lancashire. Yorkshire. England.

I have found Harry and his blood line.

Thank you for that anyway.

What I am trying to find are my uncles I believe I have. From there onwards

But anyway. Harry was supposedly married twice before but I have not been able to confirm any harry marriages being my Harry. He had sons to these previous wives.

(The biggest problem is that my father is a horrible man and a compulsive liar so any info I have. I have had to get on my own because even if I asked then I doubt I'd get the truth)

Thanks again.
Hello Eric was one of my best friends in burghwallis from 1966 to 1975 when I got married. His dad was Harry shortly after we met i used to spend time at his nans house. A wonderful woman. Yes his mother's maiden name was Jones. Eric had a half brother called Peter who died in 1990s i think. I've often wondered what happened to my old friend
Hi, I've not looked at this for a long time. I've seen your comment and I'd gladly answer some questions about your old friend.

When I have a think I may ask some of my own if you'd be open to that?

Sorry meant to say Harry died shortly after Eric and I met in 1966.
Hey! I've not been on here for a long time by now! It seems like the connection is there from my memory. I'm logging onto ancestry now to jog my memory.

Thanks for getting in touch, once I've had a think I might come with some questions and happily answer any you might have.
Lovely to hear from you I was going to say I looked for your dad on ancestry which I'm not on now. I think it said Harry was only married once before Audrey. Look forward to hearing from you.
Hi Paul. I suppose my first questions are, where is Eric now and where is Mrs ebden buried. One of my biggest regrets in life is that I never visited her when I moved away. She was like my nan for a few years but when you're young you're selfish..would love to pay my respects.

Hi,

I can see it's a while since you first posted this but If you are still looking I can give you some information about Eric's mother Audrey as she was my father's older half sister. Her maiden name was Jones and I believe she was born in Doncaster after the family moved to the area from Wrexham. Like one of the other posters Dad hasn't seen Eric since the early 1970s (New Year's Eve 1971 to be exact, my parent's wedding day) and so couldn't really tell you anything after that but if you want to know any more about Audrey's side of the family in general I'd be happy to fill you in.

Regards

Emma

Hello Paul. Eric halkyard was my friend at burghwallis from 1966 to 1975. I met his father Harry a few times before he died. His nan and her husband Ernest were lovely people. His half brother used to visit now and then. He was a car salesman i think. He died about 1996. His name was Peter.

Hi, I haven't used this for quite some time but if you're open to some questions I will get back to you here soon, once I've had a good think and a catch up with my past progress.
Hi paul just to let you know that when Eric was young he was a good person and a great character and very popular in burghwallis especially with some of the older residents who he introduced me to. They always loved his visits..even the nuns at the convent would you believe. He also introduced me to Jeremy Clarkson. Of course we didn't know then he would be famous. Also Eric was a great rugby player. I was lucky to have  Eric as a friend. Hope this helps.
