You can add the child to each parent.

When you add the child to either parent, scroll to the bottom to make sure that there are no 'defaulted' checkboxes, that could create a marriage link between the parents, OR select the spouse of the parent being added, which is not the parent of the child.  

If that is not done, you could create a marriage link between the parents or get a parent added that is incorrect.
