On the edit page of each profile is the option to designate whether a parent is Non-biological, Uncertain, Confident, and Confirmed by DNA. Once checked, the Uncertain and DNA information appear both on the Profile page and on the Family Tree Page. (and other places too I believe?)
I do not know how the Non-Biological shows, can someone give an example? My half-brother was raised by my father but I know who his father is so this information appears only in their Bios. Thus I can not add my father as Non-biological.
Recently, I have been re-working my branches through my 3rd Great Grandparents and I was thinking that having this information on the Ancestor List (Ahnentafel Ancestor List) might be useful. I could see how deep my DNA confidence goes by generation or see who is marked Uncertain.
However, I have noticed that if a profile is marked Confident, nothing appears (space and code considerations I presume) but if nothing is marked, then, like Confident, nothing shows. (I have that right, yes?) This could be confusing in that I can not tell if I am Confident or I have just not marked the box. This is important to me.
Knowing that the relationship is Confident means that I have evidence in the Sources showing the relationship. But if I have just not yet marked the box, I would not know if it is Confident or Just Not Marked. (Again, do I have this right, I see nothing to indicate a difference). Neither show on the Profile or elsewhere.
Perhaps we can include just a check mark? (Like the one on DNA, or some other kind of indicator) This would distinguish it from profiles who have not been marked.
This would allow me to find those profiles that are unmarked and set about determining if I in fact do have evidence to add as a source.
Perhaps this is something found in the Suggestions app (WikiTree+)?
So, to summarize.
1. Should we expand the use of the Relationship Status? (Add it to the Ancestor List for example)
2. Should we have an identifying Icon for the Confident status to distinguish between Unmarked relationships and Confident relationships. This would serve as an aid in finding Unmarked relationships for evidence and sourcing evaluations.
