father of Allan Stewart Sr. 1688

Allan Stewart Sr. born 1663 in Renfrowshire Scotland.  Father's first name may have been Thomas. Doing family tree and I am "stuck" here.  Thank you for any help.

This may be difficult Pamela, the Old Parish (Parochial) Registers (OPRs) for each parish in Refrewshire cover baptisms from the late 17th C (most from the 1690s.) https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/research/guides/old-parish-registers/list-of-old-parish-registers. The earliest baptisms recorded are from 1651 in Kilbachan and 1659 in Eaglesham parishes. Your Allan Stewart's baptism may not appear in the OPRs. What about Wills/Testaments? If he stayed in Renfrewshire and had children these may be registered from around 1680-90 onwards. Not much help, sorry
