Dear Shonie,

The database of the National Society, Daughter of the American Revolution approved Patriot Ancestors can be searched online.   Ancestor #: A203245 is William Nichols, born circa 1765 in Anson, South Carolina and died May 16, 1838 in Lawrence County, Alabama.   Looks like a match!

You can see this records, plus other related ones, here:

Happy hunting!  -NGP

Hi, Shonie,

I've looked a bit further and added some sources for [[Nichols-19760|Roxie (Nichols) Parnell (1873-1937)]].

FamilySearch.org has a tree for her with parents Jesse Nichols & Alissey Caroline Barber, Nichols grandparents Ransom A & Phebe H (Gilliam) Nichols.

Ransom is allegedly the son of patriot William Nichols.  However, it does not appear that the NSDAR has approved any descendants of Ransom.  So you've got some work to do!  Good luck. - NGP
