Cemetery Connectors Challenge - Now Live!

We kicked off January with two weeks of sourcing Cemetery profiles - and now we were are working to connect them!

The goal of the Connector's Challenge is to help connect the (currently 130,000+) unconnected cemetery profiles to the main tree. Just like the Connect-A-Thon, the scoring is very simple:

Each time you add a new non-living family member (parent, spouse or child) to any existing profile, you earn a point. Reminder: all new profiles must have at least one valid source.

For scoring purposes it doesn't matter if any profiles are connected to the global tree or not. Every missing family member we add increases the chances of connecting people.

I’m in.  How do I find all the unconnected profiles in one cemetery? I wanted to work in the South Brisbane Cemetery
I would love to join for the few days left in this challenge.
I would also like to be able to see unconnected profiles in a category such as cemeteries.  Very useful!

Randall, this can be done with WikiTree+.

For example, to see all Unconnected Profiles in Category:Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico, we use the Search > Text Search option with the search term:

"Unconnected CategoryFull=Santa_Fe_National_Cemetery,_Santa_Fe,_New_Mexico"

This challenge is not live for me to track.

It has finished. The next one starts soon. See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Calendar_Cemetery_Challenge_2023

Thank you for clarification.  I wish these challenges were clear as it doesn't give the time frame above. I wasn't even aware of a calendar.

I'm in on this.  I already do this for the cemetery where my parents are buried.

I've been working on a few of these.  Keep forgetting to hit the tracker button after working on the Thon last weekend.

Will work on this one. I suspect I created some of those unconnecteds when I added residents of a local cemetery.

eta: OK - so added family to one which is creating more unconnected profiles in the cemeteries categories.  I'm not helping very well frown

When you connect profiles to one another, that is what we are after. They don't have to be connected to the global tree to track your points. Just make sure we get some relationships added and all the pieces will align eventually!

We got you Mary! Remember to track your changes in the Challenge Tracker!
Question this is my first with the cemetery Challenge .  When does this end? Do we geta sticker  saying we are in the 2023 challenge?

Hi Mary, the current challenge runs 15-21 January (so we still have a few days left). You can see the details of all planned Cemetery Challenges on the Cemetery Challenge Calendar. For the WikiTree-wide calendar (including all challenges) you can visit Help:Calendar.

If you would like to use a sticker to note your participation, see Template:Challenge Sticker. The second example is of a Cemetery Challenge participant sticker. Just the challenge and date parameters and you are all set:

|challenge=Connector's
|date=Jan 2023
|project=Cemeterist
|type=participant
