Hi Wikitreers

We have a notable Governor of the great state of Louisiana who governed during “The Thibodaux Massacre” it seems he was not Governor after 1888.

Maybe more sources can show his role in this Louisiana Labor Strike in the Deep South during the 19th Century.

Any collaboration is appreciated

Thank you

Take a look at this biography of John McEnery, who was the brother of Samuel McEnery and who also served as Governor of Louisiana:

His election resulted in the Colfax Massacre:

Wow isn’t that a huge piece of this family puzzle! Talk about politics in the Deep South. Two brothers two massacres!
