G2G: I'd like to learn more about one name studies and categorization

Question

I'd like to start a one name study for Van_Wert/Wart but I'm confused about whether I should start a profile page or apply to the one name studies project. What is the difference? Which one is best? Will I be able to ask for guidance and support regardless of which path I choose? Can someone give me a brief synopsis of categorization?

One final question I have is about whether or not I can use the one name study to include unconnected Van Wert members?

I apologize for the bombardment here but I really want to be clear about how this works and what I'm taking on before I jump in. Thank everyone in advance for your time and responses.

Thank you for your reply. I've read most of the documentation on ONS and categorization. I just didn't feel like it answered all my questions. I guess I'll just jump in and give it my best shot. If it doesn't work out, I can pass it to someone or retire it.
