How to change correct the parents of a person in Wikitree

Hi, I'm Dave Exton (Exton-1157). I've just joined Wikitree and noticed that the entries for my great grandparents are incorrect and refer to people who are not in my family tree. Similar names but not the correct people. What's the best way of correcting this? I have messaged the profile manager but have not received a reply.

The incorrect entries are William Richardson (Richardson-13201) and Annie Richardson (Griffiths-2127) which need to be replaced with William Richardson (Richardson-24457) and Ann Richardson (Roe-3520) my great grandparents.

Also affected are their children (my great uncles and great aunts) Richardson-13203, Richardson-13204Richardson-13205 and Richardson-13206.

I'm assuming it is possible to make this sort of correction and can of course provide necessary evidence.

Thanks.

This help page describes how to remove the profiles and connect the correct ones. Basically you go into edit mode on the child of the parents and on the right hand side of the page find the parent and click on edit. Then indicate you want to Replace the parent, have the wikitree i.d. of the proper profile to attach and enter that in the existing wikitree profile box click go and save your changes. You can DM the profile manager as well, with a note about why, include proof.

I looked at the profiles, and wonder if the two Williams listed are the same person. The parents and all the siblings are the same, the Williams are shown as brothers to each other, and were born in the same year.

If you want other people to accept your information, don't wait for the relationships to be changed before adding your evidence to WikitTree. Go to the profiles now to add your sources and reasoning to the text sections of the profiles. If the content you are adding conflicts with the current version of a profile (apparently it does), it may be best to create a "Research Notes" section and add your information there.

Thanks for the excellent suggestion. It's exactly what I need to do.
