Chris's answer is great, but note that if they are true duplicates you don't want to just remove the relationships. You want to merge the duplicates. Removing the parent-child relationships would orphan the duplicates and they'd get forgotton about. You wouldn't see them in the family, but they'd still appear in searches and indexes.

You can just  merge the duplicates into one individual

To remove a child:

On the fathers or mothers  profile page, click Edit at the top.

On the right hand side, where it says Children, click the add/edit.

Don't enter any details, just scroll down to the very bottom  to Remove Child:

Click the button next to the child or children you want to remove.

Then Save.
