The medieval Bayley/Bailey family of Derbyshire, England runs from Roger W Bayley born 1175 to Robert Edward Bailey born 1361. The line then continues with Robert Barlow (not Bailey), a real person. The line is documented on this FSP here, and all 14 are the subject of this Disproven Existence notice. Extensive research efforts from several members of the England Project's Managed Profiles Team has failed to find any evidence that these people actually existed, let alone evidence of the relationships and dates currently documented on Wikitree.
Almost all of these profiles have middle names, which is unheard of for this era. They were all supposedly knights, which makes it even more unlikely that none of them is to be found in contemporary records. While this line appears frequently in online trees, these are uniformly devoid of anything other than references to other online trees.
The relevant profiles have been labelled Uncertain Existence for the past couple of weeks.
Proposal:
1. People have a full week to provide evidence for the profiles named in the FSP, after which it is suggested they be adopted by the Disproven Existence Project, and their profiles amended to reflect their Disproven status.
2. Robert Barlow-840, (the earliest real person in the line) will be adopted and PPP'd by the England Project to prevent another version of this fabrication from being created and attached back to a real person. Similarly for Adam Reresby-25, who was previously connected to one of the unproven profiles.
