I will take a look at it. Maybe I can fix it.

Let me see if I have this straight. Carl Jones' mother was Zora Ann Higginbotham Jones.  Was his father James Franklin Jones? Or Albert Luther Shepperd?

I created Zora Ann Higginbotham's profile and connected her as Carl's mother.

Now what about the father?
My grandmother was Zora Ann Higginbotham Jones and my biological grandfather was Albert Luther Sheppard. James F Jones was Carl’s stepfather. I’m Carl’s daughter.
I think I see now. Carl Jones adopted his stepfather's last name.
I noticed that Carl was a WW II vet.  James F Jones was a Spanish-American War vet. I do not work those wars, so I am not familiar with what category stickers are appropriate. I have posted a question on G2G for each seeking assistance from those working WW II and the Spanish-American War to add the category/stickers.  You may see someone add military information to each of their profiles.

If you have family in the Civil War, I can help with that.
James F Jones gave my father his surname when he married my grandmother Zora Ann Higginbotham. Carl Jones was born in the home of James F Jones. No adoption.

James F Jones was also in the Civil War as a Confederate soldier.
Are we talking about James Franklin Jones, 1880-1977? If so, he could not have been in the Civil War. The Civil War was from 1861 to 1865. It ended 15 years before James was born.

Sheri,

Do you know what unit or ship Carl served on during WW II?

Someone is helping with his WW II categories and wanted some information.
