Seeking parents of William Gatty 4gt married Liverpool 1810

Question

William Gatty was married to Ann Murray in Liverpool in 1810. He was of full age. The marriage bond/licence describes him as a gentleman. His 3 known  children were given Catholic baptisms in Liverpool. The baptisms of his1st son Thomas and my 3gt Edward Gatty , had proxy sponsors.  A possible sign he came from outside  of the Liverpool area?

Early research via trade directory clippings suggested  my 4gt to be innkeeper at the Commercial inn Bolton from 1815-1817/18. However that doesn't fit in with being a gentleman,or so I've been told.

A thorough search for his baptism using Ancestry, Find my past,FTDNA, and My heritage, has drawn a  blank. Surprisingly or not a   burial has not been found for him.

A 21-year-old gentleman... Would this suggest he'd already come into an inheritance of a landed estate at a rather tender age?

Is it possible his father bore a title by which he was known, rather than a surname?

Is it possible he was the proprietor of the Inn, rather than the innkeeper?
