So sorry to hear this.

Her grandfather, Henry Clay Day, was a prominent early Wichitan. He was born in Vermont, but moved to Wichita and made his fortune as a lumberman. He was the city assessor in 1873 and later was a cattle dealer. He then purchased land on the Arizona-New Mexico border and started their ranch there.
