I wanted to share this photo from Butts County, Georgia with the community. Location: Indian Springs, Butts, Georgia, United States.
I have toured this old hotel and I've heard so many stories about this place. The old gentleman who showed us around told us that a railroad was in front of the hotel where the road is now. He said people would get off the train and visit the hotel before heading across the street to a festival/carnival they used to hold, I believe annually. He claimed the hotel was haunted by a woman and he has seen her with his own eyes. He also told us of the Indians that inhabited the area before the settlers came. It is a shame how they were treated. The hotel is now a museum full of Indian artifacts found locally from way back in history. Whether it's haunted or not, this hotel is a beautiful and sad reminder of how things used to be in beautiful Butts County. Click here for the image details page.
Thank you for sharing! I went searching for this place and found there were 6 old hotels in Indian Springs! Take a look >>>here<<<
Thanks for posting! I have family from Butts County (MAYO and CARGILE). I was there in July, mostly to photograph at the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. I stayed a night in Indian Springs. We missed the hotel tour for some reason.
