How to get background image for my profile?

I posed this question the other day and thought I figured it out but the image is still not there. I am trying to add a background picture for my personal profile, but it will not show do to the private settings. I have seen other active members with backgrounds. Any help is really appreciated!

Did you actually manage to upload the image to WikiTree?  (It won't work unless it is on this site, and while I see you have uploaded images for primary profile pictures, I haven't found where you uploaded anything that looks to me like a background image.)
If it is uploaded here, Did you upload it to your own profile, or some other profile/page?  
What is the image? (Do you have a link to it?)
Did you click to set it as background?
Have you tried to add it as background to any other profile/s?

Yes I have uploaded it and I can see it, I don't think anyone else can. It is an image of a beach.

Scroll down (right down) and on the left you will see 'Add a person or thing:'

Put your Wiki-ID (Wiles-1766) in the box next to it.  Scroll down again and click on 'Save Changes to Image Details'.

When it has saved, scroll back up and, on the right this time, you will see 'Set as Background Image' and your profile will be there.  Make sure there is a tick in the little box next to it, and click 'Set as Background'.

Go back to your own profile page, and refresh it (F5 will usually do it).  The beach should be there!

I had to upload the image to a free page instead of directly to my profile for it to work. Thanks for the help everyone!

*puzzled* It should show.  I have the same Privacy level as you, and my background shows.
