Can anyone help find evidence for the parents of Amos Sheffield, born around 1796 in Nova Scotia and married to Prudence Wells? The source I've been able to find is "The history of Kings County, Nova Scotia, heart of the Acadian land" by Arthur Wentworth Hamilton Eaton (published 1910), and it states that Prudence's husband was probably the son of Stephen Sheffield and Rachel Cunnabell:

"Stephen, b. Aug. 10, 1766, m. Rachel Cunnabell (who was m. (2) to James Newcomb) and had a son, John, who m. Jan. 10, 1812, Asenath, dau. of John, M.P.P., and Prudence (Eaton) Wells, b. Sept. 7, 1799; and probably a son, Amos, who m. Prudence Wells, sister of Asenath, b. March 30, 1806."
