D., you aren't actually giving us enough information to help with your search. I did a quick lookup of W.T. Stephens on familysearch and found several entries with those initials and last name. Not additional information about the first names were given, but since they were census records, you might be able to identify the person you are interested in profiling through the additional residents registered in the home by the census taker.

Do check out familysearch.org if you haven't tried it already. Its free and has a wide variety of material available. Good luck!

Hello  If you mean the WT Stephens who was born 29 Nov 1836 in Hickman Co., KY and then married Martha Frances VanPool in 1855 and eventually moved to Jackson County, Illinois, where he died in 1924, then yes, his given names were William Thomas (Stephens).   If these dates and names do not match yours, then please give us some more information to find the correct WT Stephens.  The Stephens family was large and had several men called WT or TW in the 19th/20th Century Kentucky.

Yes, this is the William Tom Stephens that married Martha Van Poole! They are my paternal great, great grandparents.
